Clarke got his sums wrong today on clinical negligence (NHS) claims and frankly has got quite a few other things the wrong way round as well.

Probably the most pertinent comment Ive seen today has confirmed what most of us have forgotten: The Government (admittedly a Labour one) did away with legal aid for personal injury claims in 2000 and introduced with some fanfare No win No fee. The country has benefited significantly from this.

The fraudsters should be outed and dealt with and so should shoddy law firms.

Most of us help those that need helping. We dont take advantage of those that are disadvantaged.

They're worse than that bad and their regulatory body, the OSS or whatever name it goes by these days, is merely there to wipe the tuchus of their miscreantic members.

Couldnt agree more. I instructed one highly prominent solicitor to act for me who subequently alleged they didnt know anything about the area of law and terminated instructions within 14 days of a mediation. When I made a complaint to the then OSS, this solicitor alleged in her defence that she was a busy housewife with a tribe of children. It subsequently transpired that the solicitor had invoiced and been paid for work that they had not done but left me in a quagmire of dreck

If restaurants and hotels can get bad reviews why not lawyers? It's about time the public are warned against lawyers who have made the lives of others a misery. It is unfair on the exceptional lawyers in practice that the unscrupulous ones should sully the reputation of the legal profession in general. The fact is 99% of the population cannot afford to sue a solicitor for negligence or misconduct and so they get away with it. The public are powerless. It is outrageous that those listed on the webstie should seek to sue the owner of this website. It's an attack on freedom of expression. I hope solicitorsfromhell (and solicitorsfromheaven too of course) gains wider acceptance so that people can voice their opinions as freely against a bad lawyer as they would against a bad Ebay seller or a bad restaurant.
