Oh wonderful, to be blessed with visitation by some over-hyped American celebrity ‘gangsta’. I would like to see what the Yanks would do if we sent someone of similar virtue to their shores. He would probably end up in Camp Delta.

It’s only good PR if it works. Once firms have signed up it will be difficult to exit without looking shifty. As for A&O, they now have some work to do if they want to avoid looking like the dirty Bertie of the bunch.

You should have added this bit from Trott’s interview:

Trott notes that ministerial intrusion into immigration cases has increased in recent years.

“It’s become more frequent with this particular Labour government,” he says. “They’re very concerned about appealing to Middle England, which is the Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph.”

He adds: “In one sense we’ve become more fascistic in terms of immigration control.”

The Swiss are lucky enough to get referendums on these matters. Take the new dog insurance law proposals. Those it is most targeted at are the least likely to bother complying with it. Madness. Unless you are an unsurance broker.
