Clifford Chance Saves Halliwells London Trainees

As a veritable cavalry of firms join the Burges Salmon rescue plan…

The Burges Salmon scheme for 2010 starters has actually managed to attract more firms than trainees. Around thirty firms have shown an interest in assisting the 17 newcomers who were due to commence at Halliwells in September. But it is understood that only 14 of the starters have so far signed up.

Those wishing to participate have until the 13 August to join before CVs are sent out to participating firms.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that the two London-based first-year trainees left jobless after the firm’s collapse have been picked up by Clifford Chance after intervention by a former Halliwells’ partner.

Not a bad result all round.
