So what was going on you might wonder. The pursuit apparently began when Robert Whatley drove off whilst the officers were issuing him with a fixed penalty notice for not wearing a seatbelt.

A court heard that he drove off because he thought he had been dealt with and needed to take medication for a heart condition and a stroke, according to the Western Mail.

Mr Whatley stayed within the speed limit during the chase as he believed that the police car was following him and sounding its siren because it was escorting him home.

Must have been quite a surprise for him when he pulled over.
