Deidre Dare: More Controversial Headlines
About the raping and beating of women…
Deidre (Dare) Clark has never been far from the headlines over the last year or so. The ex-A&O associate is famed for being sacked in 2008 over her saucy online scribbling and for bringing a £3.4m compensation claim alleging unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination against her former employer. In the meantime, she has been writing a controversial column for the Moscow News called sExpat.
But if all publicity is good publicity then A&O and Deidre must be celebrating right now because the Daily Mail seems to have the bit between its teeth. However, we doubt it is and we doubt they are. The latest headline:
‘It’s natural for men to rape and beat women’ says sacked lawyer suing firm for £3.5m for sex discrimination
This kind of publicity is hardly the stuff of PR dreams for any top international law firm. But neither would it seem to sit comfortably alongside a claim for sexual discrimination…
Daily Mail: She writes: ‘Men have been dragging women by the hair since caveman days. It’s in their nature to be violent.
‘The human male has evolved to slap his slutty woman.
‘If you’re hanging out with real men and you’re a little slutty, you’re going to get hit. Period.’
All a long way from finance law (isn’t it?). We doubt we’ve heard the last…
