DLA Piper Pay Increase
For US associates…
Unfortunately, no similar news for UK based lawyers, as yet. And the increase actually just restores the pay to pre-crisis levels – salaries dropped 10% last year as the recession bit.
Legal Week: A memo released to lawyers on Thursday (15 April) announced mid-year pay increases in the firm’s US offices outside of New York. DLA raised salaries in New York in January to pre-recession levels of $160,000 (£104,000) for first-year associates.
A number of other US firms have also adjusted associate pay to reflect improved business, including Latham & Watkins and K&L Gates. Over here, Clifford Chance has increased salaries for junior lawyers whilst Linklaters and Freshfields have unfrozen their associate lockstep.
