Are Lawyers Really That Bad?
If the stats from one particular website are anything to go by, the answer might be yes…
News of a website called Solicitorsfromhell.co.uk has been doing the rounds. The URL is fairly self explanatory but, as it’s Friday morning and we know some of our readers aren’t averse to the odd late Thursday night out, here’s a quick explanation.
The site basically allows visitors to post complaints about law firms and individual solicitors, creating an unofficial blacklist. The postings then appear on Google within 24 hours. As you’d imagine, it’s not quite in the same spirit as the SRA’s published regulatory decisions but then the site’s owner, Rick Kordowski, has gone for the money angle.
If that sounds like bait for litigators, his fixed charges – £299 to have all current and future traces of their name removed from the site or £99 and £199 to have specific postings deleted – are probably cheap enough to tempt most firms to just cough up and avoid the hassle.
Here are the stats which he gave to the Gazette. He claims on average to have six new postings a day. Visitors to the site exceed 1,000 a day and he expects to have 2,000 visitors a day by the end of April. So, increasingly popular and increasingly risky?
Bets on for when the first libel claim hits…

Shame on all solicitors – the guilty ones should just be struck off – filthy lot – and the good ones should stop lining their pockets with all the dosh they make for doing what any lay person could do if they were allowed and put pressure on the LCS and SRA to clean up the legal profession once and for all! It’s sites like ’solicitors from hell’ that help to expose the greedy swines who abuse their trusted positions! What legal right do they have? None! So why do they get away with it?! Let’s put an end to the corrupt solicitors and there’s plenty of them, making a quick buck at the expense of their client or in my case, a non-client who had to pay £13,000 to the very solicitors who had been appointed to act in the admin of my parents’ estate! I ‘failed’ to get my sisters removed as unfit executors, not because they were innocent…no…the judge agreed they were guilty but could not remove them because they were ‘equally named by the deceased’! The sol paid his ‘fees’ from my inheritance! What an insult! The admin etc has taken over 4 years, to date! I had no time to grieve. They didn’t care then or now…!!!

In reply to Catherine Reaney problem my situation is exactly the same as her’s, but mine is the son’s of my deceased husbands.
I tried to get them removed as executors, but no joy.
I tried to take them to court but all I kept getting was it would be to expensive, like Catherine up to press it as cost me £20.000 over 29 months and still not sorted.
They have also used up all my Inheritance on Solictors ‘fees’.
Perhaps it was as well I did’nt take them to court because I would probably have got the same response from judge “equally named by the deaceased”.
Think there should be a new law bought out that gives the beneficiaries more rights-I tried to bring a case for the Reasonable Finacial Provision and the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
Was told that he had provided for me that there would not be much point. Yes I was provided for before they used my inheritance up

Rick’s doing a great service for the layman/woman who are all being ripped off by the Corrupt system, and they all hold compelling evidence that the whole of the systems Corrupt in the UK, who are all on the gravy train, and in my opinion they should all be strung up on lampposts. Nobody can obtain JUSTICE anymore and it’s about time we all went on the march like the students recently, and fair play to the lot of them. It’s the only way of at least obtaining some satisfaction.

…the SRA emailed me MONTHS ago stating they would ‘look into it further’…nothing…what an absolute disgrace…and as a consequence of my parents’ deaths – that i have to be left to suffer in this way…my parents worked v. hard and did not intend to be ripped off by the two of the three executors they named to execute their wills. i am disgusted on behalf of my parents and those in my positon: ripped off…

They’re worse than that bad and their regulatory body, the OSS or whatever name it goes by these days, is merely there to wipe the tuchus of their miscreantic members.
