Top UK Firms Keep Hand in Overseas Recruitment

The cutthroat training contract environment has been particularly prickly for wannabe lawyers over the last 18 months. Cancellations, deferrals and ever growing numbers of applicants conspire to leave large numbers disappointed. But the opportunity still exists and firms are making a determined effort of seek out the best students from across the globe.

Legally India reports:

NLSIU Bangalore’s student recruitment committee has placed 96 per cent of its students after a law firm recruitment flurry took 28 students last week and eight students joined UK firms for training contracts.

[Recruitment committee member Samiksha] Godiyal explained that two students each had accepted job offers from UK firms Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Herbert Smith and Linklaters.
