Moonlighting for Lawyers: Erm, Teaching
We’ve heard of lawyers moonlighting as cab drivers and bar workers but here’s a new one. In a ‘career alternatives for attorneys’ post ATL has interviewed a BigLaw associate on her secret life as a swinger sex promoter for her “School of Sex”…
A slight misnomer in fact as her [Don't open at work ] School of Sex is in fact an events business. And it appears as though she sees it as more than just a hobby:
I went to law school in New York City and currently work at a Vault 100 law firm as an associate. I was able hit my target billable hours every month until a recent slowdown at my firm. For this reason, I’ve been developing [Don't open at work ] School of Sex to the point that it’s a viable backup career.
If her firm finds out, it’s safe to say, she’ll need it to be.

Studies have shown that the most socially conservative people in society have some of the kinkiest tastes; not saying all lawyers are kinky but!

It’s one thing doing this in your spare time but promoting events and generally getting lots of attention is not very smart. It rather echoes that self-publicising Deidre Dare and someone flirting with the danger of self sabotage. Perhaps some thought about whether she really wants to be a lawyer is in order before it is no longer a choice she has the luxury of.
