Redundancy Watch: Mayer Brown
It has emerged that US firm Mayer Brown is axeing a number of lawyers in the City.
Four partners are understood to be leaving – the firm said: “We thank them for their contribution over the years and also wish them every success in their future careers.” (What… no Merry Christmas in there?)
Meanwhile the firm has launched a redundancy consultation which will affect up to eight fee earners. Those potentially affected have been notified already and are really looking forward to their Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Nice timing.

You have to give it to the Americans, they are totally ruthless when it comes to putting business first. Mind you, doing it in the New Year would seem just as harsh so at least the unlucky ones can start next year afresh.
