Berwin Leighton Paisner is the latest firm to reveal its financial results for the half-year period, which ended 31 October. The firm has announced a 5% drop in revenues with fee income falling just below £80m.
It is understood that corporate and real estate departments have seen the biggest falls in activity.
In other recent results announcements, Denton Wilde Sapte announced increased revenues through the downturn up 3.5% during the first half of 2009-10. Fee income reached £87.7m for the six-month period, up from last year’s figure of £84.7m. Revenue from the firm’s international offices was up from 29% last year to 32% for the first half of this year and the firm attributed its growth to its international network.
And Simmons & Simmons has seen turnover drop significantly from £143.5 for the first half of last year to £120.3m this year, a 16% fall. The downturn was the primary culprit.
