Why You Need a Holiday

For most of us the end of the August bank holiday marks the end of the downtime until Christmas. For most of us the end of the August bank holiday marks the end of the downtime until Christmas. But there are always a few diehards who don’t manage to squeeze a summer break into their hectic lawyer schedule. An associate in one of our leading firms once complained to me that he had not had a single day off (including weekends) for nearly 3 months in a row. We’re all prone to exaggeration now and again but stretching the truth or no, the guy was seriously weary. If like him you just didn’t get a break over the summer, here’s why you should:

1. Regain your fitness
Experts believe that we can reclaim up to 30 percent of our fitness just by going on holidays.

2. Rebuild your body
Without the stress of the nine to five grind our bodies have enough time and freedom to repair themselves.

3. Breathe easier
Ever camped in the mountains and thought, "Gee, the air feels clean here?" Well, you’re right. City pollution means the air in urban areas is more congested and dirty.

4. Feel inspired
If you’ve lost your gusto for work then it’s time for an inspiration top up.

5. Reconnect with your partner
Tiredness and stress are instant sexual zappers. Holiday sex on the other hand, is always hot.
