Despite the downturn woes facing many firms and the bitter taste that large-scale layoffs leave in employees’ mouths, there are some that seem to have kept things pretty sweet in the last year.

Law firms had a strong presence in the top 100 companies in the Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies To Work For survey at the weekend. Pannone, a consistently high acheiver on this front came third overall – a whopping 78% of its employees said that they were happy with the firm!

Other firms hitting it off with their employees were City firm Lewis Silkin, the highest new entry at (19), Brabners Chaffe Street (20), Olswang (58), Mishcon de Reya (65), Mills & Reeve (68), Freeth Cartwright (72), CMS Cameron McKenna re-entered at (74), new entry Charles Russell reached (92) and Berwin Leighton Paisner slipped in at (94).
