Dispute resolution partners David Gore and Roger Billins, along with IP partner Brian Miller, are advising copyright owners on internet IP breaches. They have already begun distributing cease-and-desist letters to people suspected of illegally downloading pornography – one elderly couple received a letter demanding £500, accusing them of illegally downloading gay porn film Army F*ckers . The couple are protesting their innocence…
According to the Lawyer Billins said the firm would accept porn companies as clients “as long as they can prove to us that they own the rights to the titles and that the content isn’t illegal” .
However, the firms actions has provoked something of an outrage among observers:

as long as it keeps people gainfully employed.

Even porn needs representation. I mean isn’t it the largest on line industry. You can’t really scoff at that, sex sells and where there is money everything else follows. I mean you don’t see women making specific complaints against firms acting for arms manufacturers even though more women and children are probably harmed by such things.

Perhaps online porn is a huge industry…
but can you imagine the legal team visiting their new clients ‘onsite’
nervous shuffling as the silicon squad clock in for ‘work’
