In the excitement of the half year results there is a hint of trepidation in the air…
Following our update on Wednesday, here is a quick guide to the latest results released by firms for their first halves:
Bird & Bird has posted an impressive 15% hike in revenue to £85m (up from £68.5m this time last year) for the first half of the financial year which puts in near the top of the performance table. In addition to a 15% rise in fee income over the period, the figures include an extra 15% rise in turnover brought in partly as a result of a number of recent mergers by the firm.
Clyde & Co looks to have seen double-digit growth in its revenues during the first six months of this financial year. Fee income has increased 10 per cent hitting £83.6m compared to £76m at the same point last year.
Stephenson Harwood’s overall revenues have increased by 4 per cent this half year to around £40m which looks somewhat anaemic compared to last year’s 19% increase but it’s positive nonetheless.
But…
Nabarro has posted flat growth for the first six months of 2008-09, with £64m in revenues.
So pretty positve results amongst this group.
Stay tuned…

So not much of a rush to get those bills in before the end of last month then. Scraping around for something to charge clients with at the end of November will be sooo much harder.
