As the excitement of another hot Summer draws to a close and firms say goodbye to the last of their summer students, what tales of woe have been left behind?

Unless you have been on a very long holiday over the last few weeks you cannot have avoided news of the Shearman associate sacking. There has been much coverage and debate over the reaction to this, feel free to join in.

Here is a bit of cheeky gossip from across the pond at Above The Law in which the summer student took advantage…..of a college intern :

"The college intern, in a state of inebriation, left the bar hanging all over one of the summer associates (hereinafter "The Cradle Robber"). Later that evening, the Cradle Robber wrote an email to several associates, claiming that "the deal was sealed" with the college intern.

An associate forwarded the email to the hiring partner. The Cradle Robber did not receive an offer."

When will people learn about the whole e-mail/discretion/deniability thing?
