Prehaps,

confidence can easliy be unsettled by unwarranted arrogance.

If interviews are frank honest discussions about potential abilities then thats fine,

invariably thats not the case,

interviewer ego wanders in.

Confidence and preparedness is one of the most desirable traits and characters that interviewers look for in training contract candidates. No amount of disguise can cover a lack of confidence and preparation, so don't test the skill and patience of the interviewers by trying to hide anything inside, because it will invariably show up on the outside.

smoking a cigar?!

the interviewer seems like a bit of a w*@nker.

abuse is so unnecessary. maybe it makes them feel more important.

or they are just w*@nkers who need cuddles.

just say no.

I think that they must have some kind of memory loss and forget that they used to be on the otherside of the desk at one point.

I friend went to an interview where the interview sat and had a feast infront of him, smoked a cigar and asked stupid questions. Needless to say he didn't get the job and I'm not sure whether it would have been wise to take a job working with someone like that anyway.

I think interviewees forget that they have a power of choice too.

I think a more interesting article would be the kind of ridiculous questions interviewers have asked, those poor desperate graduates trying to make the best impression, before they get landed with a shocking or impossible queston.
