Trainee solicitors and associates at Travers Smith will remain on last year’s rates of £36,000 for first-year trainees, £40,000 for second-year trainees and £64,0000 for newly qualified associates.
Managing partner Chris Carroll blamed the economic downturn and the rising cost of salaries.

i think 36k is plenty for a wet behind the ears law grad, who’ll be doing the photocopying and picking up the partner’s dry cleaning for the 1st 3 years of their career.
